Tanya Brooks is the Founder and Creative Director of Whitehouse Salon in Shadyside, Pittsburgh, bringing decades of hands-on experience, international education, and salon ownership to her work.

Tanya began her career in Canada and has spent more than 36 years as a salon owner. Throughout her career, she has continued her professional education well beyond the salon, traveling to Vancouver, Los Angeles, France, and Italy for advanced classes and training.

Her professional education also includes training with some of the most recognized names in the hair industry, including Vidal Sassoon and Toni & Guy, with a strong emphasis on precision cutting, color, and advanced hair techniques.

Tanya has developed a particular expertise in blonde hair. From bright, dimensional blondes to softer, more natural-looking color, she approaches each client individually rather than relying on the same formula or technique for everyone.

Achieving the right blonde isn’t simply about making hair lighter. Tanya considers the client’s existing color, hair condition, skin tone, desired result, lifestyle, and maintenance preferences before developing a plan.

Owning a salon for more than three decades has given Tanya experience that extends far beyond working behind the chair.
